The waiting game continues....

We are still waiting for any brickie to come and start brick laying.. the new brickie is very sick at the moment and so no work has started..its very disappointing to see the house sit there for weeks on end and no work happening..

So our 6.4m stacker door got installed last week and were very excited to be able to finally see the grand large doors. But when we saw them there was an issue which was part of the installation note..the size of it was off by 35mm! We measured the height and it was only coming to 2.3m, which was strange because we upgraded to a 2.4m hight stacker door!

Our SS said apparently the way stegbar labels their stacker doors is AST2464 which we thought indicated 2.4m high and 6.4m wide. The width is correct but apparently the height of 2.4m doesn't happen due to the brick course not matching up so the actual height of the stacker doors will be come 2.3m!?
So this is a little concerning because we weren't told that. We thought we were getting a 2.4m high stacker door. I know its only 10cm but its still 10 cm higher across 6.4m which makes a difference.

We'll have to call stegbar and see if that's what they mean and how they label their products.

So thats just one of the issues. The other issue with the stacker door is that when you pull both sides of the stacker doors to join and close in the middle, it doesn't meet up!! so its short! Stegbar is going to replace it. Our SS said that it needs to be made again and that can take up to 5 - 6 weeks. But it needs to be done before brickwork for the back starts.. so hopefully they've got started on making the door because i don't want to be further detailed in brick work not finishing!

so no work and issues coming up!

Today we got a chance to see the upstairs to our house! it was very exciting! the rooms look smaller than we intended but out SS tells us that once the walls go in, it wont look that small at all.. hopefully that's the case even thought it doesn't make sense..

Our stairs are something i'm looking forward to see.. its the thing i feel in love with when i saw the house.. however it wont be happening till they start walls inside..

I've got some photos of our upstairs and our stacker door.

Someone new..?

Our block is still sitting there with the bricks waiting for a brickie.

Our SS emailed us on Friday saying that a new brickie is becoming part of Rawson Homes. So when all paper work gets finalised he will be able to start on our house. That's most likely end of next week... i guess its better than waiting 4 - 5 weeks..
Hopefully he's good...only time will tell..
