Brick Day 9 - Soon to be all ours...

Today once again no work.. 

However we did find out why the work has been going no where..apparently these couple of weeks the bricklayers were finishing off another job.. we don't know if our SS knew about it all along or just found out.. but apparently and I say apparently because nothing that seems to be said actually happens..anyway apparently they will finish that job Friday and from Saturday onwards the bricklayers are only going to be working on only our house..i will believe it when I see it. Hopefully they stick to this and we get some more work done.. 

Everything is there for them.. the bricks, the sand, the scaffolds.. what else do they want? 

Brick Day 8 - Why more bricks?

Today once again no work has happened...its very deflating when the weather is great and there's brick there and no work is being done day after day! 

Today there was some bricks delivered but that's is... and now all the space in the front of the block is filled with bricks, sand and scaffolding equipment.. I'm hoping something gets done this week.. just at least one day where there's been work on the house.. its so disappointing with everything there but no work being done.. 

Brick Day 3,4,5,6 & 7 - Not much happening...

Well from the lack of updates through the brick stage it can be predicted very accurately that nothing has really happened...unless moving around bricks around the house is called bricklaying.. that's what the bricklayers seem to be doing!

I was driving by the house Monday and was able to catch our SS for a chat. He said the bricklayers were going to be coming in about 5 mins or so and that the scaffolding would definitely be coming in Tuesday so they needed to do some so its easier on them.. obviously I was very excited! I decided to come back later in the day to check out the work.. Unfortunately it seems that either they didn't come or that they just moved more bricks around the house.. its like they just keep prepping rather than actual laying! 

This morning the scaffolding came in and was put up on the sides..not the front though cause there are too many brick palettes sitting in the way..so hopefully due to this they can at least start with the roof tiles.. some work needs to happen! Its been 9 weeks since frames finished and only half of the ground floor and been bricked! That's just ridiculous!! 

Bricks Day 2 - Guess what?

The second part of the cycle is here... This afternoon I drove by the block and there were about 8 palettes of brick there... but surprise surprise there were no bricklayers or brickwork done today..

We were told that this was a big team and that it would be a quick process but today there's brick and good weather but no brickwork done..?

It seems like everything is there for them to continue on tomorrow.. I really hope they do come and finish off all the bricks delivered today. 

Bricks Day 1 - Guess who's back..?

Finally the bricklayers have started laying! Nearly  2 months of waiting for  bricks! If they had started when they were meant to, we would have been so much closer to moving in. 

Today they only laid the bricks which have been there from the beginning.. seems like no more brick arrived so that's all they could do... I hope more bricks arrive nice and early tomorrow so they can continue on.. The weather is good tomorrow so that part of the day is covered...

It seems like when there's bricks there's no bricklayers and when there's bricklayers there's no good weather  and when there's good weather there's no bricks.. it seems like a vicious cycle that keeps going around and around! 

Please explain!

Well from no post you can guess that nothing has happened! 
Were getting promises that are being broken. 
Broken promises are the beginning of an unstable relationship! 

So no work started on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday or Friday or Saturday.... we were told it would start Tuesday/Wednesday and we were prepared for it to start on Wednesday but it didnt happen. The bricklayers were apparently held up from rain from the previous week. So our next day to look forward to was Friday and surprise surprise there was no work done on Friday. Please explain!? We were promised it would start Saturday if the weather held out. Of course the weather didn't... so no work. 

We were very excited for Monday though. We knew it was going to be great weather and so was very frustrated to find out  that the only thing that has happened today was the bricks have been moved around house for them to start the work. But no work done! just prep! All day and that's all they've done!?! 
We were told that this brickie team is a big team and they will get through the bricks we have there in a day but all they've seem to have done is move them around the house. Please Explain?!

The only reasoning i can think of is that they are going to do it tomorrow and more bricks will come as well so they will get 2 batches of brick done in one go. Luckily the weather is good tomorrow too but it if starts to go downhill with weather then they are just delaying it further for us! 

Once again the waiting game...

MIA..?

So its been nearly 5 weeks and there's nothing really to say hence why I've been MIA.. only emails have been written saying the same thing.. no bricklayers available.. 
the new bricklayers Rawson were getting on board have dispersed for other jobs leaving Rawson short again with no bricklayers for us.. 

But today we got some news that there are bricklayers coming on Tuesday or Wednesday to start.. I'm guessing Wednesday.. sand is already on our block so hopefully this isn't just talk to make us feel better.. 

Its not starting on Monday because of public holiday.. unlucky us.. and the weather which has been amazing for the last 5 weeks has turned on us and looking like rain all next week..unlucky us again! That's what the forecast says so hopefully its wrong..

I cant wait to see the bricks go up and the house  finally taking shape! If they had started when they were supposed to, we would have finished everything by now! We just hope they don't rush it so they can finish on time.. We liked Raswon's finishes and we don't want it comprised because they want to finish it on time.
